South Africa COVID Response
Led a 40-consultant Deloitte team supporting South Africa's COVID response, including oxygenated-bed capacity, NHLS testing scale-up, oxygen supply to 6.5x normal over three peaks, and support for a 500,000-healthcare-worker vaccine trial.
Vaccinate SA
Led Vaccinate SA, building a 3,500-nurse, 1,500-site vaccination programme delivering 350,000 doses per day and R40bn/year annualised revenue management in four months, widely considered South Africa's fastest business build.
Deloitte Gigs
Conceived and led Deloitte Gigs, a Deloitte world-first and South African first programme allowing employees to own startups while employed, piloted in Consulting SA and rolled out to the full Africa group in November 2022.
Project Sky - mining innovation portfolio
Led Project Sky for a mining client, focused on business-of-tomorrow innovation and disruptive growth. Led a 26-person team plus eight client-side people. Achieved a R153m sale, built a R2bn pipeline, and managed a R6bn fund described in the CV as Africa's largest VC fund. Team won consulting team of the year in 2018/19.
API monetisation - telecom MNO
Led an R80m API monetisation project for a telecom MNO implementing Google's API platform. Added a strategy component and secured the win over Accenture despite limited local delivery capacity. Led a cross-border delivery team and secured second-phase commercialisation work.
ADX Digital - mining fresh-produce platform
Led a greenfield business build to supply fresh produce to restaurants. Built by Chris, one consultant, and two client interns. Achieved break-even within six months and was forecast at R300m value within three years.
Afrimax telecom acquisition due diligence
Delivered country due diligence and operator modelling for a Zambian mobile-operator acquisition. Brought in a specialist resource from Chris's telecom past to run the national telecom model. Repriced the work from R500k to R5m based on sector expertise and delivered in record time.
Consulting Leadco strategy offsites
Designed and led annual strategy offsites for consulting leadership teams. Built a visionary way forward and brought the leadership group along. Sessions were consistently rated best-ever by leadership participants.
Financial-services medical-aid market entry
Designed a financial-services market-entry strategy to displace Discovery over five years. Included value propositions for members, corporate clients, and intermediary brokers. Required deep understanding of a complex and regulated healthcare market.

Designed strategy to displace Discovery over the next five years. Included value propositions for members, corporate clients, and intermediary brokers. Required deep understanding of the complex and regulated market.
WOAN bid support
Supported the WOAN bid with WIPHold and IDC. The bid was structured around R2.1bn of funding before the government process was cancelled.
